Christmas Gifts for Travelers 2018

Christmas Gift List 2018

If you’re looking for that perfect gift for the travel addict in your life this holiday season, then I’ve got you covered! Everything in this 2018 Christmas Gifts for Travelers gift guide is travel-addict-approved (by me)!

The Travel Basics:

1. Soundproof Headphones

I bought my Bose QuietComfort Headphones literal hours before my 8 hour flight to London, and it was the best $300 I’ve ever spent. They’re noise-cancelling, so they block out the sounds of the jet engines, children crying, and all the other annoying plane noises, and they’re wireless, so you won’t get tangled up in a cord trying to get up to go to the bathroom.

2. Wireless Headphones

A cheaper option compared to the QuietComfort Headphones, the Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones are wireless and have the same great Bose sound quality, but they aren’t noise-cancelling

3. Earbud Wrap

If your traveler likes to bring simple earbuds on their trips, an earbud wrap is a must for keeping their cord from getting tangled. The Bluelounge Cableyoyo earbud wrap lets you coil your earbud cord in a pocket-sized pouch and keeps the earbuds in place with a magnet so that the cord doesn’t unwind.

4. Passport Holder

International travelers will love this cute Famavala Passport Holder and Wallet with a world map design and RFID blocking for added security. The case also has slots for credit cards, making it super convenient for holding your passport, money, and boarding pass while traveling.

5. Selfie Stick

Everyone can use this Mpow Selfie Stick, from a solo traveler to a group traveler (our family reunion photos rely on a selfie stick). This selfie stick has bluetooth pairing and even comes with a tripod so that you can be a real selfie pro!

6. Portable Phone Charger

Every traveler needs a portable phone charger while traveling. With all the movies you’re watching on your phone on the plane and all the pictures you’re taking at the Eiffel Tower, your phone is going to need charging. The Anker PowerCore Portable Phone Charger lets you charge your phone while you’re out and about, has high-speed charging, and is compact enough to fit in a purse or backpack.

7. Worldwide Plug Adapter

The international traveler doesn’t have to worry so much about what they plug in with the BESTEK Universal Travel Adapter. This compact, travel-ready adapter comes with the major international adapter plugs and also converts all countries’ voltages to US voltages so that you can charge your devices.

8. Amazon Fire Tablet

Read, watch movies, play games, and listen to music all from the Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet. It’s your go-to entertainment for every plane, train, car, and bus ride.

9. Fintie Folio Case for Amazon Fire Tablet

And you need to protect your Amazon Fire Tablet with a case, of course! This Starry Night Fintie Folio Case for Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet keeps your tablet in a protective sleeve, folds into a stand so that you can see the screen more comfortably, and looks really pretty!

10. Laptop Case

If you know a traveler with a laptop, this egiant Laptop Sleeve fits 14-15.4 inch laptops, is water resistant, has front pockets to keep the mouse and charger close by, and has a handle so that you can easily carry it.

11. Memory Foam Travel Pillow

Every traveler needs a good travel pillow for those long haul flights and car rides. The Cabeau Memory Foam Travel Pillow rolls up into a small, easy to pack pouch and pops out into shape when you’re ready for a nap. The memory foam makes this pillow soft and comfy, and the sides keep your head from lolling over onto a stranger’s shoulders while you sleep.

12. Travel Noise Machine

One of my favorite travel gifts I’ve ever received is the Brookstone Tranquil Moments Bedside noise machine. I like a little white noise when I sleep, and this noise machine completely transforms the unbearable silence of a hotel room. It has plenty of different sounds to choose from, and you can put the noise on a timer. It also has a “travel” switch so that you can keep it from turning on accidentally while it’s stowed away in your suitcase.

13. First Aid Kit

Safety first! The compact Pac-Kit by First Aid Only has all your basic first aid essentials and can be kept in the car for roadtrippers and in a backpack for backpackers.

For the Adventure Traveler:

14. Waterproof Digital Camera

Great for an adventure traveler who spends their vacation snorkeling or just splashing around in the water, the Vivitar HD Action Camera with a waterproof case takes awesome underwater photos and has a digital screen so that you can view all of your pictures.

15. Floating Wrist Strap

An absolute necessity so that you don’t lose your camera or phone, anything else you can attach, this Mudder Foam Floating Wrist Strap keeps your valuables from floating away. It makes the perfect stocking stuffer for an adventurous traveler who’s always on the water!

16. River Run Double Tube + Electric Air Pump + Paddles + Life Jacket

I’m lumping all of these gifts together because they’re all the items I find necessary for Shooting the Hooch or tubing down any river. I love this 2-person Intex River Run Tube because you don’t have to worry about floating away from your friend, and it has a built-in cooler for your drinks! The Electric Air Pump makes it so much easier and quicker to blow up the tube, the Paddles are for keeping you on course and away from tree limbs, and the Life Jackets are necessary safety equipment.

17. Sun Shelter

Great for sitting out on the beach, on a picnic, or watching a solar eclipse, the Ozark Trail Sun Shelter is an easy to carry half-tent that will keep your traveler out of the sun on their summer vacation.

18. Black Diamond walking poles or distance hiking poles

Hikers will appreciate these lightweight Black Diamond Trekking Poles and Black Diamond Distance Poles with rubber grips and adjustable height that make hiking easier.

19. Garmin Activity Tracker

Hikers, runners, and all types of active travelers can use the Garmin vívosmart HR+ Activity Tracker. We bought these for my parents last Christmas, and they haven’t taken them off since! The Garmin tracks steps, distance, floors climbed, and heart rate and can be paired to your phone so that you can get notifications and messages.

20. Air Mattress

The Intex Classic Downy Airbed is great for those who like going camping. This inflatable air mattress is waterproof, durable, and comfortable!

21. Tent

The Coleman Evanston 6-Person Dome Tent is a great tent for family camping (or just two people camping who like a lot of space). This tent has enough room for two of the air mattresses listed above, and the screen room lets you lounge bug free! Take that, mosquitoes!

Around the Home and Travel Decor:

22. Amazon Echo or Echo Dot

I love the Echo and Echo Dot for automating our lights, like our Christmas lights, when we’re away on travel so it’s not super obvious that we’re away from our home. Alexa also just makes a lot of things easier around the house when you’re too lazy and jetlagged to get up and turn off the lights yourself.

23. Smart Plugs and LED Smart Bulbs

You’ll need an array of smart technology so Alexa can automate your home while you’re out traveling. The Kasa Smart Plug by TP-Link or the Kasa Smart Plug Mini by TP-Link will let you plug in things like Christmas lights and put them on a timer. The Philips Hue LED Smart Bulb Starter Kit gives you everything you need so Alexa can turn on and off your lights when your hands are too full of luggage.

24. Travel-Themed Calendar

I’m a big fan of calendars, especially ones with castles. Get your traveler their favorite travel-themed calendar so that they can mark all their trips for the year and count down the days until departure.

25. “Keep Calm and Carry On” Mouse Pad

Anglophiles will love this classic “Keep Calm and Carry On” Mouse Pad to keep them company at work and remind them to keep calm, a vacation is coming soon!

Happy shopping!

Cheers!

Paige
