We Stayed in a 21-Bedroom Cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN

I stayed in a 21-bedroom cabin in Pigeon Forge, and it felt more like having a private boutique hotel than renting a normal Smoky Mountain cabin. If you’re looking for a Pigeon Forge stay for a large group, the Grand LeConte Lodge is a great choice.

The Grand LeConte Lodge is not the cabin you book for a quiet couples getaway. It’s built for large groups, family reunions, wedding parties, retreats, church groups, sports teams, and multi-family trips. With an indoor pool, hot tubs, an arcade, and a movie theater, it’s also built for fun!

I stayed here during a group trip to Pigeon Forge, and I was surprised by just how much space and entertainment was packed into one cabin. Here’s my full review of the Grand LeConte Lodge, including what the cabin is like, who it’s best for, and what to know before you book.

A special thanks to the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism for hosting my trip! As always, all opinions are my own.

What Makes Grand LeConte Lodge Different?

It Feels Like a Private Boutique Hotel

Rustic bedroom at the Grand LeConte Lodge in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with a large wood framed bed, white shiplap walls, dark wood ceiling, and a matching dresser beneath a window. A gray futon along one wall and the simple cabin style finishes make the room feel cozy and practical for a lodge stay.

Staying at the Grand LeConte Lodge doesn’t feel like a typical cabin rental — it feels like having an entire small hotel to yourselves.

Each bedroom has a private bathroom, so you get real privacy instead of awkward room-sharing situations. And when you need a break from the rest of the group, you can shut yourself inside your own room.

The living room space feels like a giant hotel lobby with multiple different seating areas so you can relax and mingle in smaller groups.

There’s a parking lot that even has 2 electric vehicle charging ports.

At the end of your stay, you’ll do a little upkeep like taking out the trash and starting the dishwasher, but you won’t have a laundry list of chores like you would at an Airbnb property.

It’s Built for Big Groups

Large lodge kitchen at Grand LeConte Lodge in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with gray cabinets, blue island, stone countertops, and a long row of wooden stools for group seating. Rustic pendant lights, wood floors, and a sign reading "thankful blessed" make the open kitchen feel warm and ready for shared meals.

This cabin is built for big groups. There are 21 bedrooms with 21 full bathrooms, plus 5 half-baths throughout the cabin. There’s a wing of bedrooms on the first floor and two wings of bedrooms on the second floor.

  • 18 of the rooms have King beds and a futon, which is great for couples or families with young children.
  • 2 of the bedrooms are ADA compliant with King beds and roll-in showers.
  • 1 bedroom is a communal bunk room with 3 sets of King-over-King bunkbeds, which can sleep 12 adults comfortable (or more realistically is where you pile all the kiddos). This room has a full bath and a half-bath.

The cabin has a huge kitchen on the first floor and a second kitchen in the basement, so you can cook for large groups. There’s even a large laundry room with 2 washers and driers.

There are plenty of large common spaces: the living room with 3 different seating areas, the dining room with 3 long tables, the kitchen with two islands and bar seating, the covered decks with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables, the large indoor pool, the basement gathering room with multiple seating areas, the basement kitchen, the game room, and the 57-seat theater.

The flow of the cabin is great so you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other all the time. You can retreat to your own room, hang out in the kitchen, relax in the living room space, head out to one of the covered porches, swim in the pool, play in the arcade, watch a movie in the theater, play in the yard, or sit out in the pavilion. You can be with each other without being completely in each others’ space.

The cabin has space to sprawl out and space to come together.

It Has Resort-Style Amenities

Large lodge game room at Grand LeConte Lodge in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with a blue pool table, glowing arcade machines, a high top table, and framed game themed wall art. The open floor plan and mix of seating, billiards, and arcade games make the room feel built for relaxed group entertainment.

The amenities are some of my favorite parts of the cabin! You don’t just have a place for a big group to sleep, there’s also plenty to do at the cabin between Pigeon Forge activities.

The indoor pool is a huge highlight. You can swim year-round, no matter the weather. One thing to note is you will need to sign a waiver in order to get access to the pool, for safety reasons. The pool is behind a locked door that requires an access code, so it’s safe and secure for families with small children.

The two hot tubs are nice and secluded downstairs with a view from the back yard, so you can relax a little away from the group.

The arcade room and movie theater offer plenty of fun. There are some classic arcade games, a pool table, and a video game console. You can set up your Netflix account or hook up a personal device to watch family videos in the movie theater.

Outside, there is a covered pavilion in the parking lot for grilling out. In the back yard, there’s a covered pavilion that’s great for weddings and other ceremonies.

When you really want it to feel like a resort, you can even bring in services like catering and entertainment. We had a dinner catered for us, and then we had a trivia night with a local trivia and DJ service. There are tons of local vendors who can help make your vacation feel even more resort-like.

The Location Is Surprisingly Convenient

View from Grand LeConte Lodge deck in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee over a grassy hillside with leafy trees, a road below, and blue mountain ridges in the distance. The open sky and layered landscape show how close the cabin feels to both town amenities and Smoky Mountain scenery.

While the Grand LeConte Lodge is huge, it’s not remote. It’s actually surprisingly close to everything in Pigeon Forge (and you don’t have to drive up any winding mountain roads to get to it).

The cabin is just 1 mile from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, 1.5 miles from Dollywood, and 2 miles from The Island and LeConte Center. It was so easy to get from the cabin to all of the best Pigeon Forge activities and the best Pigeon Forge restaurants when you don’t want to cook for everyone.

This is super handy when you have a big group of people who want to do different things — everyone can go off on their own and then meet back up at the cabin later; you can have a meeting place that’s not too far out of the way, and you don’t have to spend half the day driving up and down a mountain to get to your cabin.

Our Experience Staying at Grand LeConte Lodge

Spacious living room of the Grand LeConte Lodge in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with high wood ceilings, a tall stone fireplace wall, and clusters of cushioned sofas arranged around patterned rugs. Floor to ceiling windows along one side bring in green tree views, giving the common area a bright, comfortable mountain lodge feel.

I arrived at the Grand LeConte Lodge on a sunny afternoon. The parking lot had plenty of spaces for all the cars in our group, and the front entrance was like a welcoming rustic boutique hotel.

When I walked in the front door, I was greeted by a warm and inviting living room and open-concept kitchen, flush with natural light streaming in the tall picture windows. There was a huge stone fireplace, beautiful artwork, and fluffy seating in a homey brown with dark blue accent pillows. The view out the back showed the Smoky Mountains in the distance. I instantly felt right at home.

I used the elevator to take my bags up to my room on the second floor. The elevator was a little slow, but it was helpful for not lugging my suitcase up the stairs. I opted not to use the elevator for the rest of the trip, and instead used the stairs, but I appreciated the accessibility the elevator provided.

My room faced out the back of the cabin, offering a slight view of the mountains and plenty of trees. The room felt part hotel, part rustic Airbnb. There was a wooden bed with a muted patterned quilt comforter, a futon, a large dresser, a couple end tables, and a coffee corner with a coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge. The bathroom was simple with a granite vanity and a tower/tub combo.

We only had 7 people staying in the cabin, so it was pretty quiet. I barely heard the women in the rooms next to me, and I couldn’t hear anything from the common areas downstairs.

On our first night in the cabin, we had dinner catered. A company brought in chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, salad, and an array of desserts. They set everything up for us on one of the huge kitchen islands. And then we were responsible for the cleanup afterwards, although you can also get catering that takes care of everything for you.

We ate dinner on the covered deck, with picnic tables set with pink geraniums and a view of the Smoky Mountains. It was April, so the weather was fantastic for eating outside, and there weren’t any bugs.

After dinner, we had a local trivia and DJ entertainer come in and set up a casual trivia game for us in the living room. It was a really easy, fun night in that was low stress. Something like this could be really high energy if you have a big group in the cabin. You’re even allowed to move the furniture all around the house, as long as you put everything back in its original spot before you check-out.

The next night, we explored the common spaces a little more. We took a look inside the bunk room, and I crawled up into one of the bunk areas. It seemed really cozy in there, and I bet a big group of cousins would love hanging out in there together.

We didn’t end up using the pool, but I would have liked to. Our hosts just didn’t think about getting us to sign the waiver beforehand since we had a pretty quick trip, so we didn’t have the access code.

I did take a dip in the hot tub while a couple other ladies played in the arcade room. The hot tub was great because it had an easy-lift lid that I was able to open one-handed. It made opening and closing the hot tub so easy! The hot tub was clean and well-heated. It was in a nice, quite spot on the bottom deck by the arcade room, and it felt peaceful and well removed from the rest of the house, the perfect spot to relax.

We made great use of the kitchen during our trip. The 2 giant refrigerators were filled with food and drinks. I was surprised anyone would need a mini fridge in their room, but I guess it would be nice for convenience! A few coffee drinkers had some difficulty with their in-room coffee makers, but there were 3 more in the kitchen, so it wasn’t a problem.

This cabin really does have so much going on! It was fun to stay in with just 7 people, and I can imagine it would be a blast with a big family reunion!

Bedrooms and Sleeping Arrangements

Rustic bedroom at the Grand LeConte Lodge in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with a large wooden bed, gray patchwork bedding, striped pillows, and a small welcome basket set on top. The wood floors, plank walls, and leafy window view make the room feel cozy, cabin inspired, and peaceful.

One of the things I hate about group trips is figuring out the sleeping arrangements. My biggest thing is that every party should have their own bedroom and their own bathroom. I’m way past the days of sharing a Queen bed with 2 friends.

So I love that you don’t have to share bed spaces at the Grande LeConte Lodge!

Every couple can have their own room. Families with younger children could use the futon in their room for the kids. Bigger kids could have their own room, or they could all bunk in the bunk room together. Grandmommy and Granddaddy can have the ADA-accessible rooms, and the second floor is still accessible thanks to the elevator.

And everyone has a bathroom! You don’t have to go out into the hallway in your pajamas to pee in the middle of the night or lug around a toiletries bag to take a shower or worry about running into someone in the hallway when you’re all disheveled and just woken up.

That’s honestly the biggest win for me.

Kitchens, Dining, and Group Meals

Secondary lodge kitchen at Grand LeConte Lodge in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with gray cabinets, stainless steel appliances, black counters, bar seating, and white shiplap walls. Signs reading "welcome home" and "welcome to the cabin" add a cozy, homey feel to the practical group kitchen space.

The cabin is ready to feed a crowd. Feeding a large group is a whole headache of logistics, but the Grand LeConte Lodge has everything covered.

The large kitchen on the first floor has multiples of basically everything: 2 large refrigerators, 1 large freezers, trash cans, coffee makers, dishwashers, sinks, ovens, microwaves. You can have plenty of cooks in this kitchen.

And if that’s not enough, there’s even another kitchen in the basement with 1 of everything. Plus, a couple grills outside for a cook-out option.

And if you don’t want to share certain foods, there’s a private mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in your room.

So you can cook for a large group. You can have multiple people helping cook, and you won’t be all over each other.

There’s plenty of seating for everyone. The bar seats 12. The 3 tables each seat 14. There are low tables in the living room. And there are picnic tables and side tables on the porches. You can actually host a reunion or a retreat here without everyone balancing plates on their laps.

You also don’t have to cook. There are a ton of great local businesses that will cater large groups. All the food can be delivered to you, and some catering companies will also help with the set up and clean up if you want. The large kitchen islands are the perfect set-up for a buffet-style catered meal. You can feed an entire wedding party without any of the stress.

The amenities here make the Grand LeConte Lodge more than just a place to sleep. Your group can spend a full day here with catered meals, trivia, hot tub time, arcade games, and a movie night and not feel like they “wasted” a night in Pigeon Forge.

What Surprised Me About Grand LeConte Lodge

It Didn’t Feel Too Big, Even With a Small Group

I stayed with only 7 people, which sounds ridiculous in a 21-bedroom cabin, but it felt luxurious rather than awkward. It was surprisingly easy to find some privacy or to walk around the house without seeing another person, even though we all stayed in rooms right next to each other.

The Bedrooms Felt Private

A lot of other group cabins can feel like dorms, but the Grande LeConte Lodge really did feel like a hotel. The private bathrooms help so much in making this stay feel private and comfortable.

It Would Be Easy to Host a Full Weekend Here

The catered dinner, trivia, decks, pavilions, and entertainment spaces make it easy to imagine hosting a family reunion, group retreat, or wedding weekend here.

Cons of Grand LeConte Lodge

  • Expensive if you don’t have a large group — You’ll want to find the break-even point between everyone getting their own hotel room and everyone chipping in for this cabin.
  • Too much space for a small family or couples trip — This is definitely a big-group accommodation.
  • You’ll need someone to coordinate rooms, meals, and group logistics — Unlike a hotel, your rooms aren’t assigned, and someone in your group needs to play coordinator .
  • Not a wilderness cabin experience — It is secluded, but it’s not remote, so you won’t get that deep-in-the-woods vibe.
  • Availability may be limited for popular dates — Nightly minimums may also apply.
  • Big groups may need firm plans for food, parking, check-in, and shared expenses — It can be a lot to coordinate a big group getaway, but this cabin definitely makes it worth it!

Who Is Grand LeConte Lodge Best For?

Exterior view of the large deck at Grand LeConte Lodge in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with wood stairs, covered seating, picnic tables, and wire railings overlooking trees and distant hills. The multi level porch extends the cabin’s gathering space outdoors and makes the mountain setting feel easy to enjoy.

The Grand LeConte Lodge is best for large groups who want to have a getaway in the Smokies together, while still being close to Pigeon Forge.

This cabin is a good fit for:

  • Family reunions
  • Wedding parties
  • Church groups
  • Corporate retreats
  • Sports teams
  • Multi-family vacations
  • Friend groups splitting the cost
  • Groups that want private bedrooms but shared gathering spaces

This probably isn’t the best fit for couples, small families, or travelers who want a quiet, secluded cabin tucked away from Pigeon Forge.

Grand LeConte Lodge Pricing and Booking

Nightly pricing at the Grand LeConte Lodge changes by date and season. Prices can range from $2,919–$6,719+ per night, so you should check exact dates before comparing it to individual hotel rooms or other group cabins.

That nightly price can look steep, but the best way to make sense of it is to calculate the cost split per group. Paying that much looks wild split 7 ways; but if you split it between 21 families, the split cost is typically better than booking separate hotel rooms.

Grand LeConte Lodge Location

You really can’t beat the Grand LeConte Lodge‘s location. If your group wants a secluded cabin space without being far from restaurants and attractions (and without being remote and up difficult mountain roads), this is the best place.

You’re just a mile from the Parkway, which has all the best Pigeon Forge attractions, restaurants, and bars.

But you’re still removed enough from the main roads to feel removed from the bustle of town. The cabin is up on a residential hill, with easy roads to travel, and plenty of land between its neighbors (next door is the similar, but smaller, 16-bedroom Grand Forge Lodge; I’ve seen inside and it’s just as nice, but on a smaller scale).

You’re not far from Dollywood (another great place for big groups), The Island, LeConte Center, the Pink Jeep Tours, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and all the fun mountain coasters around town.

FAQs About Grand LeConte Lodge

How many people can stay at Grand LeConte Lodge?

Grand LeConte Lodge can sleep up to 92 guests, which makes it one of the largest cabin rentals in the Smoky Mountains. It’s designed for big groups like family reunions, retreats, wedding parties, church groups, sports teams, and multi-family vacations.

That said, you don’t have to fill every room for the cabin to feel worth it. We stayed here with only 7 people, and it felt very luxurious. But the pricing makes the most sense when you’re splitting the cost across a much larger group.

Does every bedroom have a private bathroom?

Yes, every bedroom at Grand LeConte Lodge has its own private bathroom. This is one of the biggest perks of staying here with a group.

You get the fun of staying together in one huge cabin without the awkward parts of sharing bathrooms, waiting for showers, or walking down the hallway in your pajamas in the middle of the night. For me, this is what makes the cabin feel more like a private hotel than a typical group cabin.

Is Grand LeConte Lodge good for families with kids?

Yes, Grand LeConte Lodge works really well for families with kids, especially if you’re traveling with multiple families. There’s an indoor pool, arcade, movie theater, bunk room, outdoor space, and plenty of room for kids to spread out.

Do you need to cook during your stay?

No, you don’t have to cook during your stay. The cabin has two kitchens, multiple refrigerators, plenty of seating, and outdoor grills if your group wants to prepare meals, but catering is also a great option.

We had dinner catered one night, and the large kitchen islands worked perfectly for a buffet-style meal. Some catering companies will simply drop off food, while others can help with setup and cleanup, so it’s worth deciding how hands-on you want your group meals to be.

Is Grand LeConte Lodge close to Pigeon Forge attractions?

Yes, Grand LeConte Lodge is very close to Pigeon Forge attractions. It feels removed from the busier parts of town, but you’re still about a mile from the Parkway and close to places like Dollywood, The Island, LeConte Center, Pink Jeep Tours, restaurants, bars, and mountain coasters.

This location is especially helpful for big groups because people can split up for different activities during the day and meet back at the cabin later without a long drive.

Final Thoughts: Is Grand LeConte Lodge Worth It?

Yes, staying at the Grand LeConte Lodge is worth it if you’re traveling with a large group and want everyone under one roof. It’s especially worth considering for reunions, retreats, wedding groups, church groups, sports teams, or multi-family trips where private bedrooms, shared gathering spaces, and on-site entertainment matter.

For small groups, couples, or travelers who only need a place to sleep, it’s definitely way more more cabin than you need. But for the right group, Grand LeConte Lodge can turn the lodging itself into one of the most exciting parts of the trip.
