1. Salt Life Food Shack

Salt Life Food Shack is a great restaurant by the beach. They have sushi, poke bowls, tacos, and burgers as well as a bunch of refreshing mixed drinks.

Enjoy drinks on their a breezy rooftop patio where you can look out at the ocean while you eat; but you have to be quick to score a table up there!

I recommend the Pineapple Mojito (absolutely no one is shocked that the first thing I recommend is a mojito!).

2. The Sandbar & Kitchen

Enjoy oceanfront dining at The Sandbar & Kitchen. The Sandbar menu offers plenty of seafood options, burgers, wood fire pizza, and more either indoors or out on their patio and beach seating.

Take advantage of their weekly lunch specials, happy hours, live music, and trivia events.

I recommend the White Sangria or the Sandbar Hurricane.

3. Sliders Seaside Grill

Sliders Seaside Grill is a 2-story oceanfront tiki bar with a menu of fried seafood and live music. This bar is literally just steps away from the beach.

Come for their happy hour and enjoy drinks with a waterfront view. Sit outside at their “sandbox” near the playground or out on either level of their oceanfront patio.

I recommend their Fish Bowl.

I recommend getting a pitcher of their Mango Margarita.

5. The Palace Saloon

The Palace Saloon is the oldest continually operating drinking establishment in Florida. The building dates back to 1878 and the bar dates back to 1903. Local lore says that it was the last bar in Florida to close on the eve of Prohibition.

They have live music, pool tables, darts, and a backyard area called the Shipyard.

I recommend getting a cup of their world famous Pirates Punch.

6. The Decantery

Located next door to The Palace Saloon is The Decantery, Fernandina Beach’s premier wine, craft beer, and cocktail lounge.

They have a selection of rare and unique wines, craft cocktails, and homemade desserts. There is even a state-of-the-art wine dispensing machine.

I recommend asking their super helpful staff to help you pick out your new favorite wine!

7. The Principal’s Office Bar

Located at the historic Amelia Schoolhouse Inn is the aptly named Principal’s Office Bar. This is one time you’ll love being sent to the principal’s office!

Enjoy craft cocktails and wine while being surrounded by school-appropriate décor like the old desk in the corner, the dunce’s hat, and educational wall hangings.

I recommend the School’s Out or the Bear Necessities.

8. Pepper’s Cocina Mexicana & Tequila Bar

As a tequila bar, Pepper’s may be other people’s choice for their margarita craving, but for me it was a mojito craving!

Have a seat at their bar, out on their patio, or a booth inside. They have an extensive Tequila collection, a full bar, and fresh Mexican food.

I recommend the Amelia Island Mojito (surprise, surprise).

9. Mocama Beer Company

Beer-lovers in Fernandina Beach will love drinking at Mocama Beer Company. This 3,500 square foot taproom takes up space in an old 50’s car dealership, renovated to embrace its mid-century charm.

There are 24 taps with rotating brews. For non-beer drinkers, they have a wine list full of small producers and rare offerings.

I recommend the Idle Daze sour.

10. Cantina Louie

Okay, so I’m sending you out of Downtown Fernandina Beach for this one. But Cantina Louie is worth it!

They have a great selection of specialty cocktails and drink specials every day of the week, along with a weekday happy hour. So it’s so worth it to make the trek out of downtown!

I recommend the Pomegranate Paloma.
