Where to Drink in Pigeon Forge: Tasting Rooms & Fun Drinks

Pigeon Forge isn’t really a cocktail-bar-heavy destination, but there are still plenty of fun places to grab a drink, sip local spirits, and try free tastings. If you’re looking for moonshine, hard cider, sweet wine, or a fun themed drink, here’s where to drink in Pigeon Forge.

I tried a mix of tasting rooms and watering holes while I was in town and found some great free tastings, craft cocktails, souvenir drinks, and plenty of delicious local flavors.

From distillery tastings and fruit wines to hard cider and moonshine cocktails, these are the places I recommend for drinks in Pigeon Forge.

Warm wood tasting room of Old Forge Distillery in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with a long polished counter faces shelves packed floor to ceiling with neatly arranged jars of jams, jellies, and preserves in many colors. Hanging bulbs, rustic paneling, and a customer leaning at the bar make the shop feel like a busy country market tasting counter.

Best Places to Drink in Pigeon Forge, TN

1. Old Forge Distillery

Cozy lounge corner with a long tufted tan leather banquette, small round cafe tables, and black bentwood chairs beneath string lights. A glowing sign on the wall reads "OLD FORGE Cocktails," making the space feel like a warm, retro cocktail bar inside Old Forge Distillery in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Old Forge Distillery is a boutique spirits distiller that makes moonshine, gin, cream liqueurs, bourbon whiskey, rum, and vodka.

Located next to the historic Old Mill in Pigeon Forge, this is a one-stop shop for free tastings, a craft cocktail lounge, and a bottle shop. They use the stone ground grains from the Old Mill, and their distiller Keener is always experimenting with something new.

Their moonshine tastings are free up to 10 samples (and they have over 27 flavors!). They also offer free samples of their cream liqueurs. There’s a small fee for their gin, bourbon, and spirits samples. In their cocktail lounge, you can purchase craft seasonal cocktails made with their premium spirits.

My favorites were their Elderflower Rum Liqueur, Harvest Gin made with muscadine grapes, Coffee Moonshine (even though I don’t like coffee), Vanilla Bean Moonshine, and Coconut Rum Liqueur.

2. Tennessee Stud Cider

Spacious tasting room for Tennessee Stud Cider in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with dark wood counters, shelves lined with bottled drinks and merchandise, and crystal chandeliers hanging from a glossy dark ceiling. A few customers stand at the central counter, giving the polished shop a refined distillery or brewery tasting room feel.

Tennessee Stud Cider by Yee-Haw Brewing Co. is a hard cider and cream wine tasting room at The Island in Pigeon Forge.

Hard cider is an alcoholic drink made from fermented apple juice, and sometimes they’ll add other fruit flavors for a delicious mix. Cream wine is a mix of cream, wine, and silky smooth flavors for a dessert-like drink. My favorites are the Peach Ginger Hard Cider and the Blackberry Hard Cider.

You can get a free tasting of 3 flavors or a VIP tasting for a small fee of 10 flavors.

Since this cider shop is located at The Island, you can pair a tasting with a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, shopping, dinner, an escape room, or the free fountain show.

3. Bootleggers Homemade Wine

Rustic shop interior of Bootleggers Homemade Wine in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with shelves packed with colorful bottles of flavored wine and rows of casual shirts and hats displayed along the wall. The wooden counters, labeled bottle cubbies, and country style décor make the space feel like a cozy tasting room gift shop.

Also located at The Island is Bootleggers Homemade Wine. This winery makes sweet Muscadine and fruit flavored wine.

My favorites are the Blackberry Wine and the Red Raspberry Moscato. If you’re not much of a sweet wine person, the Redneck Reserve Wine is their semi-sweet and strongest wine. They also have unique flavors like Cotton Candy Wine and Strawberry Shortcake Wine.

They offer free tastings in small samples. They also have a VIP tasting stamp card that gets you a VIP tasting experience at 4 wineries (both Bootleggers locations and both Elkmont Winery locations) for a small fee.

4. Dolly Parton’s Stampede

Plastic cup of iced soda on a wooden table reads "Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction," with stage lights and the blurred arena in the background. The branded cup in the foreground sets the scene for a dinner show just before the performance begins at Dolly Parton's Stampede in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Dolly Parton’s Stampede is best known for its dinner show, but it’s also a fun place to grab a drink.

Show up early for the pre-show entertainment, grab a drink, and spend some time in the saloon-like waiting area before heading into the arena. When you do get to your seat, you can still order a cocktail via a QR code to be delivered right to you.

They have specialty drinks served in souvenir boot mugs, glasses, and mason jars, which is very on-theme for Pigeon Forge. I’m a fan of their Apple Pie moonshine cocktail. It comes in a souvenir glass that you can bring home with you.
