Atlanta Christkindl Market: Top Christmas Market in Atlanta

Grab a mug of hot mulled wine and stroll through the twinkling lights of the Atlanta Christkindl Market. The popular Christmas market is back for 2025, this time bringing a taste of German holiday magic to Lawrenceville.

This traditional German Christmas market is a great way to enjoy some holiday fun with authentic German food, warm beverages, and hand-crafted gifts. It’s the closest you’ll get to a European-style Christmas market without leaving Georgia!

I’ve visited the Atlanta Christkindl Market for the past few years, and it’s one of my favorite ways to kick off the holiday season. From the smell of roasted nuts to the sound of cheerful carols, it feels like stepping into a European winter wonderland.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time or making it a yearly tradition, here’s everything you need to know before heading to the Atlanta Christkindl Market.

Atlanta Christkindl Market

The German American Cultural Foundation’s Atlanta Christkindl Market has been one of the best Christmas markets Atlanta has had to offer since starting 2016. And admission is free!

In previous years, this Atlanta Christmas market was set up at Centennial Olympic Park, Atlantic Station, Buckhead, and Smyrna. But this year, the market will take place at Lawrenceville Lawn in Downtown Lawrenceville.

The market, inspired by the Christmas markets popular in Germany and all throughout Europe, features a village of more than 50 vendors, housed in Bavarian-style wooden chalets, selling food, beverages, and gifts.

Christmas Market Food and Drinks

The Atlanta Christkindl Market is the perfect place to try out some authentic German food and drinks, like Glühwein (a traditional German mulled wine), pretzels, bratwurst, schnitzel, potato pancakes, and chimney cakes.

You can also get treats like hot chocolate, spiced apple cider (with alcohol added or without), edible chocolate art, and crêpes.

I tried the Glühwein. You’ll receive it in a souvenir mug, which you can bring back for a refill at a discount all during the market days, just like at the markets in Germany.

We also tried the Pretzel Brat and Pretzel Dog with garlic parmesan pretzel buns and beer cheese from Woodstock Pretzel.

And for dessert we got Nutella Chimney Cake from Love Chimney Cake.

Everything was so delicious! Definitely stop by the Christmas market for lunch or dinner so you can try out all the different foods.

  1. The market looks like such a fun place to visit! I especially love the pretzel! It looks so good – I’m hungry now haha ?? I love that you get to keep the mug too! Here in the UK, you have to give it back, so I definitely think they should adopt that for over here!
