The Roof at Ponce City Market may seem like purely a summer activity, but it can be fun during the winter as well! Find out what winter fun you can have at The Roof.
About The Roof at Ponce City Market
Ponce City Market is one of the tallest all-brick buildings in the South. The site on which it sits used to be an amusement park, and The Roof at Ponce City Market pays homage to that with its trendy Skyline Park.
Up on The Roof, you can take part in some fun and games, enjoy the skyline views from the rooftop craft beer garden, sip some classic cocktails, and have plenty of winter fun.
Admission to The Roof at Ponce City Market costs $15 for adults, $7 for kids under 12, and is free for children under 3.
Admission plus Game Play costs $30 for adults and $22 for kids.
What to Do at The Roof at Ponce City Market in the Winter
1. Skyline Park
Skyline Park is a rooftop amusement park with rides, midway games, and miniature golf. The games include Horse Derby Race, Basketball, Skee Ball, and Break-A-Plate. The rides are a Three-Story Slide and Heege Tower, a rotating tower that offers great views.
Depending on the Atlanta weather, it may be cold in the winter or it may be mild. Even if it’s cold, Skyline Park will still be in operation during the winter. For their winter hours, they may be open only on weekends through February, depending on the winter weather.
You can rent a big fluffy faux-fur coat for the day if your winter-wear isn’t quite warm enough. You can also buy warm food, warm drinks, and alcohol (both hot and cold) to warm you up while you play.
For admission to the Roof plus unlimited game play at Skyline Park, it costs $30 for adults and $22 for children.
Skyline Park is open Sunday 11 a.m. — 10 p.m.; Monday through Wednesday 3 p.m. — 10 p.m.; Thursday 3 p.m. — 11 p.m.; Friday 3 p.m. — 12 a.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. — 12 a.m. The park is 21+ after 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Check their website for changes to the Winter Hours.
2. 9 Mile Station
9 Mile Station is a rooftop beer garden with indoor-outdoor space — perfect for the flip-flopping weather in Atlanta! You’ll get sweeping views of the Atlanta skyline while you enjoy craft beers, classic cocktails, and shareable eats.
9 Mile Station is open Sunday 11 a.m. — 10 p.m.; Monday through Wednesday 5 p.m. — 10 p.m.; Thursday 5 p.m. — 11 p.m.; Friday 5 p.m. — 12 a.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. — 12 a.m. It is 21+ after 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturday. Check their website for changes to the Winter Hours.
3. Skate The Sky
Each winter, an outdoor ice skating rink pops up on The Roof at Ponce City Market. With Skate The Sky, you get 3,500 square feet of ice and great skyline views. They also have igloo rentals where you can enjoy private food and drinks with great views inside of your own ice-side igloo.
The rink is covered, which is great for rainy, wintery weather. You get 50 minutes of skate time with your ticket, and your ticket also includes admission to The Roof as well as unlimited games and rides at Skyline Park.
Adult tickets cost $30, and child tickets cost $22. This is really the best deal in the winter for The Roof because you get admission, unlimited games and rides, and skating all for the same price as you would normally for just admission and games/rides.
