Foothill Grill is the best place in Dahlonega for breakfast. This small, family-owned diner serves all-day breakfast and Southern classics for lunch.

It looks like a hole-in-the-wall from the outside, but the parking lot is always packed. The locals love it, and it’s a Saturday breakfast hot spot.

They’re known for their fresh, homemade cinnamon rolls (which are huge), their fresh biscuits, huge portions, great prices, and friendly staff.

I recommend the Biscuits & Gravy, a Breakfast Platter, and the Cinnamon Roll.

2. Spirits Tavern

Spirits Tavern is one of the best places in Dahlonega for a burger. Their menu features gourmet burgers and craft cocktails specially designed by their mixologists.

The space is small, so if they’re busy you might have a little wait, but it’s well worth it.

They’re known for their huge burgers with unique toppings, their friendly bartenders who can mix you up something amazing, and their delicious tater tots.

I recommend the Laveau Voodoo and the Rude Awakening burgers.

3. Shenanigans

Shenanigans is an Irish pub just off the historic Dahlonega Square. The restaurant is tucked away in the basement of the historic Strickland house, the walls covered in dollar bills, live entertainment nearly every night, and the largest beer selection in town.

The interior is dim and a little cramped, just like an authentic Dublin pub. They also have a covered patio and an open-air deck that is pet friendly.

They’re known for their authentic classic Irish dishes, like fish & chips and shepherd’s pie. They’re also one of the best places in town to hear live music.

I recommend the Guinness Chicken & Mash and the Paddy Melt.

4. Bourbon Street Grille

Bourbon Street Grille is a taste of New Orleans in Dahlonega. The restaurant is located right on the Square inside the historic Hall House (one of the most haunted spots in Dahlonega).

The restaurant features two stories of dining area with an upstairs open-air balcony (your most likely place to bump into a spirt) and a pet-friendly deck out back.

On the menu, you’ll find Cajun-inspired favorites made with sustainably sourced seafood. They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner.

I can recommend their Gator Bites and their Shrimp Po’ Boy or a Crawfish Po’ Boy. Finish your meal with a plate of giant, delicious Beignets.

Zen Ramen & Bento is one of the few Japanese restaurants in Dahlonega. They specialize in ramen noodle dishes and bento boxes.

This adorable little ramen bar is like you’ve been transported right to Japan. They have tonkotsu ramen (pork base), shoyu ramen (soy base), and vampire ramen (no broth but an extremely spicy sauce).

Their bento boxes come with rice, corn edamame salad, fried gyoza, fried meat ball, sausage, and lettuce pickle, with your choice of protein. They also have tacos and boba tea.

I recommend the Tonkotsu Zen Ramen, the Fried Pork Gyoza, and the Tonkotsu Kamikaze Ramen if you like spicy.

Their menu is made using their own family recipes, from chicken salad to their cakes. They’re open for breakfast and lunch.

This cozy lounge is filled with floor to ceiling plants. Their coffee bar serves Costa Rican fresh-ground coffee and fresh pastries.

They offer memberships so you can enjoy bottomless coffee as well as ticket discounts and more.
