The At-Home Activity Date Night from AmazingCo is a nice way to spend a fun night-in with your significant other. With silly challenges and friendly competitions delivered right to your phone, you’ll have everything you need for an at-home date night.

What is AmazingCo?

AmazingCo offers unique experiences for couples, families, and friends. These experiences range from Mystery Weekend Getaways and Mystery Picnics to at-home activities. Their most popular experiences are their Mystery Picnics.

What is an At-Home Date Night?

While their flagship experience is a Mystery Picnic out in the world, AmazingCo also offers at-home experiences for when you just want to stay in.

These at-home date nights (or family nights or friend gatherings) are fully digital and help you connect and learn with your loved ones. They can be played with the people in your household, and some can even connect with other households virtually.

At-home date nights include fun activities, challenges, and riddles for a night of friendly competition and fun couple bonding.

You can choose from an Activity Date Night, a Foodie Date Night, a Romantic Date Night, and even seasonal date nights like New Year’s Eve and Christmas. We went with the Activity Date Night because I asked the folks at AmazingCo what had the travel activities and that’s what they suggested!

What to Expect on your AmazingCo At-Home Activity Date Night

The At-Home Activity Date Night is fully digitally guided. When you purchase the activity, you’ll pick a date from the calendar. A few days before your activity date, AmazingCo will send you an email with an access link and some items to prepare.

The experience is date-sensitive. So you can only access your experience the day prior, the date of your experience, and the day after.

On the day of your experience, you’ll click the link in your email to access the At-Home Activity Date Night online. There are 9 activities, and you’ll tap through the buttons on the screen to access each one.

I don’t want to spoil it all, but here are a few of the activities:

• Guess That Tune — you’ll have to guess the famous TV theme songs
• Origami Battle Off — you’ll have to make and race origami jumping frogs
• Armchair Travels — you’ll answer trivia questions and riddles about places around the world
• Pitch Me a Perfect Getaway — you’ll have to each plan a weekend getaway and pitch it to each other

The email you receive beforehand will tell you any supplies you’ll need. This may require a trip to the store if you don’t have some of the items, like a ping-pong ball or pack of Maltesers/Whoppers, a couple plastic cups, or plenty of printer paper. But for the most part, you should be able to make do with what you have around the house.

After each challenge is over, there are some extra facts and info to read relating to the challenge (like some fun facts about origami after the origami battle). There are also conversation starters and questions to help you get to know your partner better.

If you want to keep score, the experience will tell you how many points to award for each challenge. But remember — the games are meant to be fun and bring y’all together, not tear y’all apart!

Overall, the date lasted us about 2-3 hours, so we spent a good bit of quality time together.

The Pros

• You don’t have to leave the house. If you and your significant other are homebodies, or are just worn out from going out, this is a great way to spend time together at home.
• The activities are unique. It was a nice mix of trivia and challenge games. They were all games I’d never thought of playing before.
• The activities are fun. We had a good time with all the games, and there really wasn’t one we didn’t enjoy.
• It’s a great gift. If you need a cheap, easy gift for a couple, then this is a great option!

The Cons

• The activities are all things you could do on your own. If you had the time and patience to put together a date night for yourself, you could definitely come up with these same things, they’re nothing extraordinary. So if you wanted to save yourself $25 to do it yourself, you could.
• I don’t love paying for something that then has you go out and purchase materials. Not everyone has ping-pong balls and plastic cups at their house. Luckily, we did. The good news is, these materials aren’t expensive to get, it’s just annoying to have to do so.

While the At-Home Activity Date Night was fun, I actually prefer other options from AmazingCo, like their Mystery Picnics. The at-home date nights are a good budget option, but if budget isn’t an issue then I recommend checking out my review of the Mystery Picnics and the Mystery Weekends.

More Date Activities from AmazingCo

As I mentioned before, the at-home date nights aren’t the only activities AmazingCo has to offer. Here are a few more options:

• Mystery Picnic Dates — a self-guided food and adventure experience where you unlock clues and riddles to find your next food destination.
• Mystery Picnic Weekends — you pick the destination, and then the experience works like the Mystery Picnic but with the added mystery of where your overnight stay will be.
• Sofa Sommelier — a wine tasting from the comfort of your own home, with mystery wines delivered right to your door.
• Watch Party — take movie night to a whole new level with a guided digital experience with themed drink recipes and scene-inspired activities and challenges.
• Clues & Cocktails — solve clues and riddles to uncover the password to unlock three secret drink recipes and create themed cocktails.
• At-Home Pamper Experience — a spa session where you can create all natural products using ingredients found at home.
• Murder Mystery Party — host an at-home or virtual murder mystery, complete with digital instructions, character profiles, and party planning tips.
• Challenge Party — go head-to-head in a series of games and challenges, either at-home or virtually.
• Greek Feast & Games Night — a Greek mythology-themed dinner party with authentic recipes for a multi-course meal and themed games and challenges.

Final Thoughts: Our Experience with the AmazingCo At-Home Activity Date Night

Overall, we had fun doing the AmazingCo At-Home Activity Date Night.

The challenges were fun, and Kevin and I enjoyed a little friendly competition. I also enjoyed that they had some travel-themed challenges (if you’re looking for a specific type of activities, you can contact AmazingCo and they’ll happily provide you recommendations for experiences that fit the bill!).

The experience was easy to access and easy to use. We did have a few glitches where there was a lag moving on to the next challenge and it still showed the previous challenge. We also had one of the music trivia audios that didn’t work. But these glitches didn’t detract from the fun of the experience.

It was a nice at-home date night. I still prefer their more “physical” experiences like the Mystery Picnics, but this wasn’t bad.
